Monday Morning Prayer Requests

Here’s what I posted on Facebook:

Dear prayer partner,

Frankly, I’m a bit overwhelmed with the positive response to our invitation to join this prayer group. So much so that I’m a bit behind in responding to everyone’s messages. Please be patient and I’ll reply soon. But please do know that we truly appreciate you being on board! It means a lot to us.

Here are some requests for this week:

1) One of the ways I think that God using to help me get connected in the community is through table tennis (ping pong for the lesser among us). I’m playing on Monday nights for the next couple of months at a local bar. I’ve also been invited to play any time that I want at the local barbershop. Please pray that I can have some great conversations.

2) Please pray for our first official launch team meeting this Tuesday night (2/10). We have about 15 adults on the team. This week’s focus is team building!

3) We have a team of about 20 college students in town for a week. They are ministering with our sister churches for most of the week but we have them for Friday afternoon. Please pray for them as they prayer walk the streets and just observe the needs in the community. It’s kind of a Joshua/Caleb mission. Let’s pray that God will show them what he wants them to see and not be deceived by the enemy.

4) One of my big tasks for the week is to set up a number of interviews with various community leaders. Please pray for a great response.
